Jeff Harris is an Australian musician and music educator. In a very busy first decade after finishing high school, Jeff balanced performing in cover bands, working in a guitar store and teaching, all the while developing his own musicianship.

The amount and diversity of teaching that Jeff has done over the last 16 years is difficult summarise in a just a paragraph or two. Teaching over ten thousand private lessons in school’s, homes, online and at The Brickhouse is just one element in a larger picture. Developing and presenting a variety of workshops covering topics as wide as instrument maintenance to songwriting has been a joy for Jeff as well as all those who attended these special sessions. Hundreds of students most cherished experiences performing live or jamming with others have all come to take place at events organised and run by Jeff.

Many of the Sessions with Jeff’s community have been learning from him for between two and sixteen years, their lives have changed over that time, they have gotten married had children, finished school and university studies; all the while music and Jeff’s role in it have been a constant. Other students came with short term goals they achieved; then inspired and armed with new skills continued on their musical journey.

Some of the inspiration behind Jeff’s dedication to sharing music is the first hand experiences he has had with a list of musicians as talented as they are diverse.  It has served as a cornerstone in his thoughts regarding the importance of musical heritage, culture and using the skills you have to enrich the lives of others. Jeff has met and or attended masterclasses with musical giants including Steve Vai, Lori McKenna, Joe Satriani, Jim Lauderdale, Steve Morse, Gary Paczosa, Andy Timmons, Bryan Sutton, Andy Wood and Paul Gilbert.

Having played professionally since the 90’s Jeff has realised his greatest achievements as co-songwriter and guitar player for Jill Beth. Their collaboration has produced the highly acclaimed release ‘Don’t Let Go’. The songs from ‘Don’t Let Go’ gained radio air play nationally and abroad. ‘Radio City’ was formally acknowledged with a nomination in the prestigious American Songwriting Awards. Locally, Q-Music also highly recommended the music from ‘Don’t Let Go’ along with BIG SOUND and Sounds Australia choosing Jill Beth and Jeff to represent Australian music.

Some of Jeff’s most memorable past performances have been in the USA and Canada but also closer to home at the Gympie Music Muster and on an east coast tour.

The sum of Jeff’s musical experiences puts him in a unique position to help other musicians, however grand or humble their aspirations may be.
